Oman, officially the Sultanate of Oman, is a country in Western Asia. It is situated on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, and spans the mouth of the Persian Gulf. Oman shares land borders with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen, while sharing maritime borders with Iran and Pakistan.

Oman is celebrated not only for its cultural charm, but also for its history and architectural gems.

1. Wahiba Sands Tour

Also called as the adventure playground of Oman, the Wahiba Sands is one of the top things to do in Oman, it holds the middle-eastern desert sand views as far as the eye can see. 8. Al Jalali Fort

Although you have to acquire a special permit to enter the premises, by applying to the National Heritage and Culture Ministry first, accessing the fort via a steep flight of stairs. Established during the Portuguese occupation in the year 1580s, this place was a prison for several years. But, however, it is currently a Museum of Omani heritage.

 

9. Royal Opera House

This one should surely be on your list, no matter how many days you’re planning to stay in Oman. The illuminating lights reflecting on the gorgeous Omani desert rose stone walls of this splendid Royal Opera House are a sight to behold.
